2024/07/23 – training #43 (2/6 weekly)

Woke up 05:30 to hit the gym. It’s kind of hard to go to the gym (although it is a 5-minute run for me) for only 20 minutes or so. If you’re there, you want to take a little bit of time. So at 06:00 AM, I was already warmed up and ready to pump the chest again:

  • 1.5km run & stretching
  • Bench press 60kgx12; 80kg x 11, x11, x10, x10.
  • That interesting chest exercise (YouTube link) 4 x 8 (20kg, 22.5kg, 22.5kg, 25kg)

You can notice that the weights went down. The reason is I knew I couldn’t get to my personal best in terms of max weight. My back and arms were sore after yesterday, and it’s early morning – I would say my peak strength is around noon. So I decided to change the routine a bit and do as much as I can with my body weight (which is around 80kg right now). I was alone in the gym, so naturally, I had to be careful. Regarding the dumbbell exercise – well, I just tried to get the dumbbells as low as possible, so that resulted in a weight decrease. But I think I’ll manage to get back to 30kg in the next couple of sessions.

Yesterday I started using BCAA amino acids. I desperately need something for my recovery, so let’s see what happens next.
